French Revolution and Romanticism- Final Project
You will recreate a part of history for your final project. Using one of the aspects of history below, you will create an experiential opportunity for us as a class to learn about that aspect of history.
Here are some ideas:
- Role-playing, in the idea of the murder mystery dinners, etc.
- A game (jeopardy, name that tune, board game, etc.) or scavenger hunt
- A model
- Experience history through art, music, etc.
- Make/show movie clips
- Group interaction (working in groups to
- Any other idea you can come up with; your imagination is encouraged here!
Your activity should be at least 15 minutes, but not more than 30 minutes long. You will be graded on creativity, completeness of explaining that aspect of history, and how well you engage your audience (aka classmates). You’ll have to be clear in your set of instructions, be time efficient, and make sure the activity is not just fun, but also educational!
All projects will be due Tuesday, May 4th—presenting will begin that day! These are worth 250 points (a major part of your final grade!)

- French salons: sophisticated revolutionaires
- Marie Antoinette and the royal court
- Conditions for peasants
- The Bastille and other famous and infamous French buildings
- Battles!
- The new Republic
- The Reign of Terror
- Art of the Revolution
- The rise and/or Reign of Napoleon
- Waterloo
- Romantic poets, composers, writers and thinkers
- Other, of your choice…
You will be given an overview of the above topics to help you make your decision, but your deadline for choosing your topic and approving your activity is Tuesday, April 27th.
